Quick Creamy Chocolate Pudding

2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup hershey's cocoa
3 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 whipped topping (optional)
1 chopped nuts (optional)

In medium saucepan, stir together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt; gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils; boil and stir l minute. Remove from heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Pour into individual dessert dishes. Press plastic wrap directly onto surface; refrigerate.
