Apple Fritters

1 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoon powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup milk
1 each egg, well beaten
2 each med apple, sour, thinly slic
Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl. Beat the egg and add the milk and stir into the dry ingredients. Mix well. Add the sliced apples. Drop batter by spoonfuls into hot fat and fry. Source: Pennsylvania Dutch Cook Book - Fine Old Recipes, Culinary Arts Press, 1936.
