Broiled Scallops W/lemon

2 lb scallops, bay or ocean
1 salt and pepper
6 basil leaves, chpd or 1t dry
2 rosemary sprigs or 1/2 t dry
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 tabasco to taste
1/4 cup veg oil

Bay scallops remain whole. Ocean scallops, halve. Place in bowl with remaining ingreds and marinate 2 hrs or longer. Remove and arrange in one layer in baking dish. Broil 3 mins, turn and broil 3 mins longer until barely cooked through. Don't overcook or they will toughen.
